Claire Easterling Pontier

Biography

Claire Pontier’s practice focuses on Estate Planning and Administration, as well as Commercial Litigation and Insurance Defense. She is certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization as an Estate Planning and Administration Specialist and is known for taking the time to understand each client’s history and goals before preparing tailored plans that protect families and preserve legacies for future generations.

In her litigation practice, Claire has maintained a diverse portfolio of matters across the Gulf Coast and Colorado, including business and employment contract disputes, land and real estate issues, property damage claims, public and private construction disputes, products liability cases, and general tort claims. A trained mediator, she leverages alternative dispute resolution to help clients reach efficient, cost-effective outcomes.

Mentored by firm founder Rob Couhig, Claire has developed as both a litigator and a business owner. Together with her partners, she has participated in ventures spanning transportation logistics, technology, and real estate development—experience that informs her counsel on business organization, planning, and disputes.

Claire earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she externed for the Honorable Dee D. Drell of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana and received Certificates in Civil Law and International Law.
